5th February 2015
My video course on Axure RP 7 was finally published on the 30th January 2015 by Packt publishing, called Learning Axure RP 7. About a year's work yielded a 4 hour and 17 minute epic.
What do you get?
Well, it covers more than just learning how to prototype, and includes an adaptive template and widget library that you may know something about if you've read some other posts around here, read on...
The first four sections. Learn wireframing and prototyping in Axure RP 7
The first section introduces you to the Axure 7 UI, with some commentary on updates and improvements to v6.5. Then you do some wireframing, learning about widgets, and masters and styles. You then go on to create some basic interaction and prototyping. The fourth video gets you building an interactive slideshow widget. Then things start to get interesting.
Section five. Collaboration and project management features of Axure RP Pro 7
Section five covers everything you need for your enterprise team. You learn how to annotate and generate custom documentation for different audiences, learn how to share prototypes easily with AxShare, and how to manage design with Custom Widget Libraries, and finally, Shared Projects.
Sections 6 to 9. A Responsive Design Framework for Axure RP
In these sections we learn how we can use Axure's Adaptive Views facility to specify responsive design. You get adaptive templates and custom widget libraries that you can base your projects on, and you learn how these files are created, so you can modify them for your own purposes.
Finally a technique is described for generating prototypes from these files for testing on mobile devices.
Don't forget, you can follow the progress of the adaptive template & widget library project and download the files for free, so you can have a play with them yourself to see how they work. Or just get the course if you'd like to learn step by step how to build and maintain your version of the responsive design framework.
